Enough with the questions already!

OK, so here’s the answer to most of the questions I get asked.

  1. How much do your cakes cost?
  2. Can you make me a cake for this weekend?
  3. How do I make a booking?
  4. Do you deliver?
  5. Can I pick it up?
  6. Can I watch you make the cake?
  7. I can’t eat peanuts
  8. Do you make gluten free cakes?
  9. Is Rick single?
  10. Why is the sky blue?

How much do your cakes cost?

Every cake is different. But as an indication, our small cakes start at $80, tiered cakes start at $120 and sculpted cakes start at $200. Tell me what your idea is, I’ll give you a free quote.

Can you make me a cake for this weekend?

No. For anything but our small cakes range, we need at least six weeks notice, and even then we get booked up early. You can book up to 12 months in advance. Our small cakes are available with two week’s notice.

How do I make a booking?

First, contact us to discuss the idea and the required date. We’ll let you know if we have space on the calendar. You’re then “pencilled in”. To fix your booking, you need to pay 50% of the quoted price. Once you do that, nothing will stop us making your cake. Nothing. Well, almost nothing. You then need to pay the other 50% at least two weeks prior to the date.

Do you deliver?

Yes. We will deliver anywhere in the Melbourne, Geelong or Ballarat metropolitan areas. Request this at booking time.

Note that small cakes are pick-up only. See below.

Can I pick it up?

Sure. But once you take delivery of the cake, we take no responsibility for catastrophes. We can talk to you about the safest way to transport the cake. Pick ups are in Wyndham Vale near Werribee except small cakes. Small cakes can also be picked up in South Melbourne during regular business hours.

Can I watch you make the cake?

No, sorry. The kitchen isn’t designed for an audience and we can’t promise what hours we’d be working on your cake. However, with your permission, we will upload progress photos to Facebook.

I can’t eat peanuts.

First, that’s not a question. Second, we’d love to help but we don’t run a peanut free kitchen. Most of our cakes don’t have peanuts in them, but the kitchen itself does contain peanuts. It’s up to you if you still want a cake. Like your Mars Bar, it may contain traces of nuts. If you need a certified peanut-free kitchen, we know of several and can point you in the right direction.

Do you make gluten free cakes?

We can, but note the peanut question above.

Is Rick single?

Sorry ladies (and gentlemen that-way-inclined) I’m happily married.

Why is the sky blue?

Because God is a boy.
